Co-curricular Activities

S.F.S School conducts a number of programmes for the full blossoming of children’s capabilities and talents. Participation in these activities help every child to discover and draw out the best in him or her. The following are some of the co-curricular activities offered to attain this goal.

Sports and Games

School provides facilities for football, basketball, cricket, volleyball, kho-kho, khabbadi, throw ball etc. In order to foster healthy competitive spirit among the students, the whole school is divided into four houses, namely, Gandhi House, Nehru House, Shastri House and Gokhale House and competitions are conducted from time to time.

Y.S.M (Young Students Movement)

In order to inculcate in the students values and leadership qualities, the Y.S.M functions in the school. Different activities such as seminars, group discussions and exhibitions are organized to make them better citizens and leaders.

Clubs & Bul-Buls

S.F.S School has many dynamic and creativity-oriented clubs and bul-buls who take active role in the various programmes conducted for the students at the taluk and state level.

Computer Education

We live in the computer age. Our school is equipped with a well-furnished Computer Labs. It helps to foster in the students’ scientific knowledge and application of it in the day-to-day life. A compulsory computer course is offered for students of classes I to X.

Dance Class

In order to unearth the aesthetics in the children we give them ample opportunities in co-curricular activities especially regular training is given in classical and folk dance.

Science Club

In order to develop the hidden talents of the students in the scientific, technical, literary and aesthetic fi eld, a Science Club is organized in the school. Under this club the following activities are organized.

  1. Group experiment to develop the skill in handling the apparatus.
  2. Lectures by eminent scholars about science topics.
  3. Trips to places of scientifi c importance
  4. Film and video shows concerning science topics.
  5. Exhibition of articles prepared by science club students.
  6. Books and magazines dealing with scientific topics are provided to the children to help them understand day to day progress in the scientific world.
  7. Essay competitions, debates and quiz competitions among students to enrich their knowledge of science.
  8. Provides opportunities to participate in inter-school competitions such as quiz competitions and demonstration competitions to develop the competitive spirit.
  9. Opportunities are provided to develop the skills in public speaking and elocution.

Opportunities are provided to develop the talents in the fi eld of aesthetics such as gardening, painting, and drawing.
