A school is a temple of learning not only to read and write but also fine arts such as dance, communication, enactment, singing or life skills such as team work, coordination and cooperation.
The annual day of any school reflects all the learning that has taken place in the school. It is the major and much awaited programme in any school.
SFS High School celebrated ELIXIR-2019‘our Culture, Our Heritage’, the 36th Annual Day on 21st Dec-2019.
Elixir 2019 was colourful of dance/drama/song bringing cheer to the participants and spectators.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony Shri.KrishnajiKarichannavar (Director, Secondary Education, Govt of Karnataka), Presiding guest Rev. Fr. Sabu Francis msfs (Rector-Suvidhya College and Provincial of Guwahati Province) and host of other dignitaries were warmly welcomed by the Principal Rev. Fr. Saju Jose, the reverberating school band and the flower girls.
The events included messages by the presidential guest and chief guest, the school report presented by the principal, felicitating the academic toppers, sports achievers, NCC students and the students who topped the school in the 10thstd SSLC Exam for the academic year 2018-19.
Sticking on to the theme of “Our Culture, Our Heritage” the dances portrayed a variety of arts such as folk dances from Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, Kashmir,Karnatakaincluding Yakshagana. The classical dance performances included Bharathanatyam, Kathak and Odissi, acting skils were displayed thorugh the mime which portrayed the need to conserve water and the humorous Kannada drama based on “Guru Shishya” theme. Besides these, patriotic dance numbers, foot tapping number to audience favourite movie songs and medley of melodious songs too was presented. The programme culminated with aX’mas play, depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
